McDonald Meals on Wheels is an independent, qualified state non-profit, volunteer organization located in McDonald, PA.

McDonald Meals on Wheels can help you or a loved one stay home and continue to live independently. At the core of our service, is a nutritional meal, companionship and a watchful eye on the health and safety of our clients.

We provide meal delivery to those living within our service area. Our services allow older and disabled adults to remain independent longer.

McDonald Meals on Wheels is an effective solution to the biggest threats to our seniors: inadequate nutrition, isolation and safety. Delivering much more than a meal, we provide a safety check, a warm smile and friendly conversation. This allows seniors to remain in their own homes, where they want to be.

Our goal is to support the whole person, ensuring that every senior in our service area has a chance to live a fully nourished life, with independence and dignity, for as long as they are able.

Meal Delivery

  • Meals are delivered to each client five days a week, Monday through Friday, between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm by one of our caring volunteers.


  • You may choose the days of the week that fit your needs. Clients are not required to receive meals 5 days a week to use our service.


  • There is no meal delivery on Saturday or Sunday or the six major holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Our daily hot meal consists of:


  • a meat or protein
  • a vegetable
  • a starch
  • salad or fruit
  • dessert
  • a choice of juice or milk
  • a choice of white or brown bread

Am I Eligible?

Any individual who struggles to prepare their own meal, has limited cooking facilities, or for any other reason, cannot look after their own nutritional needs will likely qualify. There is no age or income requirements. We are pleased to provide meals for both short and long term needs.

$6.00 per day

$30.00 per week

Need to Suspend or Cancel Delivery?

You may call us Monday through Friday 6 am - 10 am.

Please call 724-926-2104 to cancel or temporarily suspend your meal delivery for any reason - 24 hour noticed preferred.


If, for any reason (severe weather, hazardous conditions, etc.) we are unable to deliver your meal, we will notify you by telephone between 9:00 am and 10:00 am. The client should have shelf or frozen food on hand for such occasions. The cancellation will also be reported on WPXI.


PLEASE NOTE:

McDonald Meals on Wheels Volunteers are not permitted to give medication, to lift or handle clients, or to assist clients wtih transportation. In the event of an emergency, volunteers will call 911.
